Joe W. Bailey II In addition to his defense practice, Joe Bailey is called on frequently to lecture at various schools and seminars. He is a former adjunct professor of Trial Advocacy at the University of Houston Law Center. The majority of Bailey's cases are in state court, where he has built a solid reputation as a litigator.
Bailey received his legal degree from South Texas College of Law in 1980. As an Assistant District Attorney for Harris County from 1980-1987, he handled every type of criminal case. In his final years with the Special Crimes Bureau, he investigated and prosecuted major fraud cases, including one of the state's first and largest theft of trade secrets cases.
Associated with the firm since 1987 and a partner since 1989, Bailey has defended individuals charged with everything from DWI to capital murder, from illegal ocean dumping to mail fraud. Corporations frequently retain him to investigate suspected criminal activity by insiders and other business associates.
